The path of yoga for Wawa traces back to when her mother started practicing yoga while she was still in school. Wawa’s own yoga learning began in 2005. Since then, she has completed various teacher trainings, including Moksha Yoga and trainings with Paul Dallaghan and Kent Bond. She is currently studying nutrition and Indian Ayuveda. She is deeply grateful to all the teachers she has studied under and all the students who have attended her class.
To Wawa, the aim of the practice is to constantly adjust oneself. Real life itself is the practice field.
We often have misunderstandings and frictions with people we are close to, perhaps it’s because everyone is attached to their own point of view. Wawa has come to realize it is not about changing others, but rather adjusting our own perspectives and views. Just like an Asana practice, we maintain an even expansion of the breath to adjust a stable range of motion. We can treat our relationships the same way, use the breath and a balance way, it becomes a practice off the mat. Every day life and how to get along with our close relations are the best fields in which to practice.
Wawa regularly remind students, after you leave the mat, do you clearly know the current state of your body and emotion? When you are not doing any poses, are you at ease? It’s like starting yoga practice at thirty; can you make the next thirty years a brand new experience? Wawa believes this is the highest value yoga can provide. All of this will all be worth it. |
