Universal Yoga
Universal Yoga is a multifaceted system of techniques (asana, pranayama, pratyhara, dharana, and mantra) that are used for the purpose of furthering ones’ spiritual growth. The system is based on the concept of the mayakoshas (sheaths) or layers of being, that include the physical, energetic, emotional, mental, intellectual, bliss, fluctuating mind (chitta) and karmic layers.
The purpose of this system is to help the practitioner find balance within each layers, between these layers, and between the practitioner and the outside world. It integrates ancient yogic philosophy with modern scientific techniques and codified them into a logical system that allows for a complete, well-rounded practice. This class includes both basic and challenging poses, suitable for students who have had experience with yoga and are in good health. |
