Yoga Therapy Basics

Yoga therapy is a class for everyone. People of all ages, abilities and levels are able to attend this class. Yoga therapy uses a sequence of gentle asanas, breathing techniques and meditation to stimulate and maintain optimum health. Yoga therapy is geared towards p"Yoga Therapy Basics" is the course with stable and comfortable yoga postures. The sequence is designed to release tight skeletal muscles, relieve pressure on internal organs, and promote normal secretion of glands. Also in the course the teacher lead simple yogi breathing, Sanskrit chanting and meditation to promote the awareness of the practitioners and achieve self-healing then unite body and mind.

This course follows the teaching system taught by yogi breathing master O. P. Tiwari and Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute in India, which divides the postures into two parts: "meditative postures" and "cultural postures".

The culture postures will stimulate the spinal cord, central and peripheral nervous systems. Moreover the postures keeps the flexibility of the pelvis, abdomen and back muscles and the digestive organs be maintained in the correct position. At last the effort of the postures is Oxygen enters the circulatory system smoothly to reduce physical and mental heaviness.

The meditative postures requires the spine to be erect. This is with the view to eliminate of the compression of the internal organ. The minimum production of carbon-dioxide is involved very little muscular activity and in such condition both lungs and heart have a tendency to slow. The practitioners finds that their breathing appears to shadow and their inwardness becomes clear, stable and relaxed.

This course will follow the sequence of back-lying, abdomen-lying, sitting or kneeling and standing postures. The teacher will explain the physical and mental benefits of various practices. There will be a short break in each individual postures. This course is suitable for all practitioners, including beginners, seniors, pregnant women and menstrual periods.eople with health conditions but not limited to only those with problems.

In India, traditional naturopathic and ayurvedic doctors will prescribe yoga asanas and different breathing techniques as part of the patients healing process. Yoga began as a healing and therapeutic tool for maintaining one’s health. When yoga is practiced with the intention of restoring and preserving one’s health, it becomes a very powerful tool in preventing and aiding recovery from both physical and mental ailments.


Hot Yoga Therapy

Hot yoga therapy, a practice done in an intentionally heated environment of 42 degrees, helps to detoxify the organs and make the muscles more supple. It uses a sequence of gentle asanas, breathing techniques and meditation to stimulate and maintain optimum health. This class is geared towards -- but not limited to -- people with health conditions.

Therapeutic Hatha

Yoga emphasizes the balance of body, mind and spirit. When we have problems in our body, our soul will send messages to our heart, in order to let us become more aware and know how to take care of our body.

Based on different "topics", in Therapeutic Hatha class, we will practice corresponding functional yoga sequence with the use of yoga props to help strengthen our physical function.

Through meditation and breathing exercises at the beginning and end of the class, the teacher will guide members to put awareness on their emotions, thoughts and subconscious belief. It will not only improve our awareness, but also balance our body and mind.
