Beginners will establish a solid, safe, and systematic foundation for their practice; experienced students will refine their awareness and integration of body structure, internal organs, and mental clarity through precise adjustments and techniques.

Iyengar Yoga is renowned for its precision in asana practice and its rigorous sequencing, with a strong emphasis on right action. Through appropriate use of props and mindful holding times, practitioners are guided safely and effectively into poses, gaining the fullest benefit from each posture.

This 90-minute class will be both powerful and energizing. With Peter’s clear instruction, you will cultivate the principles of correct movement within foundational poses, progressively developing the skills and wisdom required for more advanced asanas. Along the way, you will deepen your understanding of safe and accurate practice, while discovering lightness and efficiency even in challenging poses—awakening the enduring flame of yoga within.

*The term “action” is a frequently used concept in Iyengar Yoga. It refers to movements performed with awareness, alignment, and clear understanding of the pose. Even if a mistake is made, the practitioner can identify the reason, rather than moving unconsciously or mechanically.
