The role of the modern yoga teacher is about so much more than leading students through a series of stretches. The modern teacher builds community by bringing people together, inspires with words and actions, and motivates others to become their own best selves.

The purpose of the 300RYT is for current teachers and dedicated practitioners to step-up and lead, not just teach. The training is designed for intermediate/advanced students of all styles who want more clarity, deeper insight, and skills in practice and teaching.

To this end, we will focus specifically on personal practice, yoga anatomy, movement & mobility, comparative philosophy, and teaching methodology.

Personal Practice will consist of classic yoga techniques in meditation, pranayama, and vinyasa yoga. The asana series will focus on a functional approach to the advanced backbends, hip openers, and inversions of the Ashtanga 2nd Series. Here, we will deconstruct advanced asana into their component movements. This gives clarity into how we might construct sequences or modify difficult poses.

Yoga anatomy is an experiential journey of studying, visualizing, and feeling anatomy through movement and touch. Here, the focus is on seeing the anatomy during the movement of yoga. Develop your sense of which muscles are contracting, which joints are moving, and how movement is produced in yoga.

Movement & Mobility applies anatomy directly to your yoga. Here, learn how modern clinical techniques can be perfectly matched to yoga, and how a simple regimen of “movement nutrition” can help to improve performance, recover faster and injury-proof the body.

Comparative philosophy looks for a connective tissue that runs through various philosophical systems. Here, we compare classical yoga with ancient and contemporary thought. Ultimately, our goal is to form a personal philosophy and purpose.

Teaching is a natural evolution. You love your practice, now you are ready to share that with the world. The teaching methodology is about the practical skills of leading a class, self-leadership, and inspiring others to step-up in their own lives.

Ultimately, this training is about doing the work that will transform you as a person and inspiring others to lead themselves.

Yoga asana - Personal practice is a teacher’s primary source of knowledge. Here, you will be guided in developing your practice through the Ashtanga intermediate and advanced series. This will include sequencing, progressions, and modifications of advanced postures.

Hands-on Adjustment - Learn safe and effective assists for all categories of asana from basic through advanced; forward, backward, side bends and twists, balances, and inversions.

Yoga Wall (advanced prop work in yoga) - implement advanced props in your classes. Blocks, bolsters, blankets, and the yoga wall are powerful tools that will immediately enhance your classes and practice.

Sequencing (progressions for advanced asana) - Fine tune your yoga basics, develop sequences based on individual goals, group themes, workshops, etc.

3M Meditation - Strengthen your mental muscle through mindfulness, meditation, and manifestation. Learn how to teach meditation to others.

Pranayama - The most important nutrition is that of the breath. Study modern and traditional forms of breath work, teach breath-focus yoga and develop a personal practice.

Yoga Anatomy - Fine tune your study of alignment and movement through yoga anatomy. Here, focus on the joints and soft tissues that are involved in yoga, and develop your sense of touch through palpatory anatomy.

Movement & Mobility - Yoga is ideal for quickly screening for movement function. Learn how to observe, assess, and improve movement errors before it becomes an injury. Use your anatomy to mobilize stiff areas, and improve performance in just a few minutes per day.

The Future of Yoga - Our comparative philosophy section explores the common ideas shared by classical yoga and other traditional systems through the lens of contemporary thinking.

Leadership - Personal growth and self-development inspires others to do the same. It begins with self-leadership. Learn to implement the tools and strategies to discover your personal mission statement and to step into your power.
