Insight Yoga is a body/mind yogic path of awareness that incorporates asana, pranayama, and mindfulness meditation mingled with the practices of loving-kindness. It draws from the wisdom of yoga, Buddhism, Taoism and spiritual psychology. When integrated regularly, these disciplines encourage stability and mobility in the body, relaxation mingled with alertness in the mind, and genuine care and kindness toward ourselves and others.
Workshop
In this special 1-day workshop, Sarah will outline how these practices create an integrated path of awareness, helping us appreciate how our time spent developing the inner life can broaden and deepen our understanding of ourselves and the world around us, laying a foundation for living with greater ease and insight.

About Sarah Powers
Sarah Powers began teaching in 1987. She is the founder and author of Insight Yoga, which interweaves the insights and practices of Yoga, Buddhism, Taoism, and Transpersonal Psychology into an integral practice to discover and enliven the body, heart and mind. Her yoga style blends both a Yin sequence of floor poses to enhance the meridian and organ systems, combined with an alignment-based slow flow or Yang practice, influenced by Viniyoga, Ashtanga, Iyengar teachings, and QIgong. Sarah feels that enlivening the physical and pranic bodies, as well as learning to open to our psychological patterns is paramount for preparing one to deepen and nourish insights into one's essential nature--a natural state of awareness. She draws from her studies in Transpersonal Psychology, as well as her in-depth training in the Vipassana, Tantric and Dzogchen practices of Buddhism. Her main teachers are Tsoknyi Rinpoche, Jennifer Welwood, Lama Tsultrim Allione, and Lama Pema Dorje.
Sarah and her husband Ty Powers live in the San Francisco bay area and have created the
