9 sessions of fundamental yoga asana and breath technique. Regardless of the style of yoga you practice, there are some universal principals that, once learned, give the student a foundation of knowledge and understanding. This experience will reveal new insights to your practice. It will provide a discipline and stabilization which allows the practice to flourish safely with joy. It will be a transformative process.

This "intensive" will cover the following -

  • creating a strong understanding of alignment principals in yoga poses
  • finding greater power and freedom in the pelvis (the subtle use of mulabhandha and uddiyana bandha)
  • opening the shoulders and heart
  • discovering the beauty of surya namaskar
  • steadiness and confidence in the inversions and basic arm balances
  • refining the breath in asana practice
  • an introduction to the breath techniques of pranayama
  • working with chanting and mantra practice
  • effort and surrender (the master key)

Requirements! please read.
Students should already have an established (Level 1) yoga practice for one year. Be prepared to work very hard with focus and dedication. Not suitable for new raw beginners.

9 sessions of Yoga (New Frontiers!) For dedicated practitioners and teachers of Hatha Yoga, this is an opportunity to take your practice deeper and explore new edges and insights in a working laboratory environment. Together, we will explore the subtle fields of the energy body and find greater steadiness in the deeper demanding postures. We will also refine and explore the quieter practices (the still practices) of pranayama and meditation. This experience will be guided and open to sharing within the kula as we bring various backgrounds together to learn more, to contemplate and to unite

This "intensive" will cover the following -

  • subtle movements and awareness in the pelvis
  • refining mulabandha and uddiyana bandha
  • body / mind relationships (tendencies and samskaras)
  • improving our ability to assist and working in partnership
  • steadiness and confidence in the more challenging arm balances and inversions
  • refining the backbends, including proficiency in drop back and stand up
  • stabilizing the pranayama practice
  • working with pranava (OM) and mantra
  • the power of silence

Requirements! Please read.
Students should already have an established (Level 2) yoga practice for several years. Be prepared to work very hard with focus and dedication. You must already have proficiency in headstand (unassisted), assisted drop back into Urdhva Danurasana from standing position, lotus pose (padmasana) and comfortable with handstands against the wall.
