Stephen, Naichin, Adnan, and Rachel will give you a taste of their teachings and answer your most pressing questions.
7:00pm – 9:00pm: SPACE's Five-Year Celebration Series - Part II
A special evening Kirtan with Jack Harrison, a musical event of "shimmering delight".
The Practice and the Bridge (7:30am to 11.00am)
presented by Stephen Thomas and Naichin Tang
To take our practices to the next level we must move beyond the layer of the physical body. In the asanas, we search for deeper experiences and links into the pranic body. We also begin to see the mind reflected in the body. In this 3.5-hour session, students will explore the central core (susumna), the granthis (knots) and the koshas. Using our practices to move energy (prana) freely towards the central core is one example of the ways we can make a bridge into understanding deeper teaching and practice. The session includes asana, pranayma, and mudra and a lecture by Naichin Tang.
The Roots (1:00pm - 2:45pm) presented by Rachel Tsai
presented by Rachel Tsai
To acquire a better grasp of the framework and contents of Yoga philosophy, it is necessary for us to understand the language of Sanskrit. Rachel will guide us through a 2-hour session overview of the history of various poetry, legends and philosophical texts of Yoga. All of them are part and parcel of the rich, vibrant and ever developing tapestry of Yoga. Students will be guided through Sanskrit pronunciation and devotional chanting.
The Body (3:15pm - 5:00pm) presented by Adnan Tahirovic
presented by Adnan Tahirovic
This 2-hour session will illustrate the importance of seeing all bodies as unique when we make adjustments and modifications. “What works for one body does not work for all”. This is an important consideration for teachers and advanced students. The session will include samples of asanas, working with “hands-on” and “visual” adjustments that are customized for the individuals’ specific needs.
Each one of these sessions is named after and explores briefly the modules in SPACE’s 300/500-hour teacher training, the first and only advanced teacher training in greater China and Taiwan.
This one day “Immersion” gives a taste of the deeper exploration in Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, Chanting, Sanskrit. It looks at Yoga as an opportunity to awaken to our full potential in this lifetime and guides the yogi towards the knowledge required to practice deeply, “as a way of life”.
Students should have an established level of practice and be comfortable with intermediate asanas including inversions. It is recommended for students who have an active practice and are interested in, or have already completed a 200-hour training or equivalent.

Bring your friends and family to this special open Kirtan, a part of SPACE five year anniversary celebrations. Performed by Jack Harrison, yoga teacher/singer, Kirtan is a wonderful practice of call-and-response chanting. It involves chanting hymns or mantras to the accompaniment of traditional Indian instruments.
And if you like the Kirtan session, don’t miss Jack’s one-day Spanda Yoga Music workshop the next day!
