Transformation calls forth the primordial force of evolution, the fire. As the ultimate science and alchemy of the soul, Yoga enkindles that sacred fire within our core. Ayurveda, the therapeutic and healing sister science of Yoga, says that a man is as old as his agni. Agni is known as the digestive fire. It is the flame of consciousness from cellular level all the way through to the plane where our spirit shines and illuminates. The basis of health maintenance and healing is invariably the science of Agni. In this workshop, we will delve into Ayurveda, which teaches the knowledge of self understanding, tools for heightening awareness and sensitivity of our body and mind and practices that are not only complimentary, but also integral to our yoga practice.

We will begin every day with a mantra, pranayama and asana practice to tune in our awareness towards the 5 elements of ether, air, fire, water and earth. The aim is to enliven our senses and mind, awaken the digestive and respiratory fire as well as light up our intention in the spiritual heart. There will be two daily lectures and the topics are as follows:

Day 1 – Fri , Nov .6th

We will set the intention by invoking the power of fire. We will then embark on the journey of Ayuerveda by firstly learning what own unique Ayurvedic constitution is. This session will acquaint you with prakriti and vikriti, the polarity that forms the basis of our effort towards health and balance.

Day 2 – Sat , Nov 7th

We will delve deeply into the subject of “digestion” in both modern and Ayurvedic contexts. Then you will be ready to get to know Agni, the digestive fire and the flame of awareness, and the fascinating Nutrition Principles. Knowledge of both serve to fortify and guide your practice on the Yogic path.

Day 3 – Sun, Nov 8th

Today’s theme is “Yoga of Action”. There will be a 60 min Ayurveda Yoga practice so you learn the workings of dosha on the mat. We will also open ourselves up to Lord Krishna’s yoga, as a tonic to our heart, through the timeless treasure wisdom expounded in Bhgavad Gita.
